A Bittersweet "Goodbye" to Blogger

Hello Friends,

Welcome to what used to be my blog. If you're here I imagine it is for one of two reasons. Reason number one is because we are friends and sometimes you check up on my blog. Thanks for that!

The second reason you might be here is because we met at a professional event and my business card referred you to this site. In that case, thanks for following up. I don't give my card to people I don't want to hear from and I'm so glad you took the time to follow-up with me.

Either way you'll have noticed that there are no posts on this blog. The reason is because this blog lost its way. It started out as a professional blog and then turned into a personal blog and then wasn't much of anything. I decided it was time for a fresh start so I cleared the previous posts and am moving my blogging enterprise to Wordpress.

Leaving the blogger platform is bittersweet. I have been devoted to blogging on blogger for almost a decade now. However, Wordpress is the platform I use for my course blogs. Thus, I check it almost every day and my life will be a lot more simple, and my blogging a lot better, if I consolidate all my blogs on one platform.

I'll keep this blog up for awhile. I still have about a dozen business card to pass out that refer colleagues to this blog and I'll keep this for several months after those cards are out in the world to make sure that I can stay in touch with all of you exceptional people.

To that end, please don't hesitate to keep in touch with me at my new online home, listed below. There's not much over there yet but soon I will be posting reviews of the books I'm reading for prelims and other reflections on academia, American Studies, and feminist issues.
